If you've never met a Maine Black Fly consider yourself one of the lucky ones. They've hatched and are as annoying as ever, especially in the deeper woods. The good news is by July they'll be gone. If you want to attend the 1st Rangeley Black Fly Festival at Sugarloaf USA - Maine you better get ready it's June 25, 2006, got to have a sense of humor to live in Maine during Black Fly season. Seems to me we had a Black Fly Festival in Aroostook County at one time...don't know if it's still on...can't even remember where it was.
