I was reading an article this morning about a photographer who'd just published his first book. In the article he talks about how photographers are not just lucky people who show up at the right place at the right time and take a great picture. Photographers need to be very persistent, sometimes going back to the same place and taking the same shot over and over again until they get the picture they want. I know just how the guy feels, there's a bunch of Mountain Ash up on a hill close to here and I know if I capture those trees in just the right light at the right angle and at the right distance it'll be a great shot. I've been going to that spot now for over a year, I've probably taken 50 pictures of those trees in all seasons but have yet to get the shot I know is there. The good news is that I'm stubborn enough that I'll be going back soon to try again.
